Dealing with Spiritual Burnout, 1

Image
Hi there, and happy new yearr 🥳🥳 I'm Tofunwa. Are you dealing with spiritual burnout? I have the solution just for you! What is a spiritual burnout? First off, technically, it is a devotional burnout (in more real terms, a mental or/and physical burnout when it comes to doing the activities that strengthen your relationship with God, and show your commitment to Him). It's quite impossible for the believer to be burnt out spiritually. Your Spirit is one with God. Joined with Him. Fused with Him. They are alike, of the same nature, with the same attributes. (1 Cor. 6:17). Meaning, if God cannot be tired, neither can your spirit. Any tiredness you are experiencing, is in your soul/mind, or/and your body. This is important because if God is going to strengthen you, it's going to be from that same Spirit. So if you feel that your spirit itself is tired, it could affect whatever supply of strength the Lord hoped to achieve. Not good. Anyways, so let's dive righ...

A Little Charge the Lord Gave Me, that Will Stir You to Preach

Image
Evangelism is the most important thing in this life. It goes far beyond the realms of importance of any other human endeavour. If you had to administer a drug for a person in a life-threatening situation, guess what? The urgency of evangelism goes much much more. The urgency of Christianity goes far beyond what we think. Jesus is Lord! We must preach him crucified. Jesus is Lord! We must preach Him resurrected. Jesus is Lord! Jesus, is Lord! Jesus, is, Lord! "Preach it! Tell it to the world! Preach it! Tell it! Proclaim it! Proclaim, His goodness! God is alive! And He is a miracle worker. God is alive! And He is the supreme Healer. God is alive! And He will forgive your sins. God is alive! And He will always be there for you, whenever you need Him. Preach these words, for they are live to your flesh, and health to all that find them. Preach the gospel. If you must demonstrate signs, do so. And do it fast! Because men are going to Hell. Men are going to Hell. Men are go...

Conversation Starters for Preaching the Gospel: Part 1

Image
Hi, how is your day going? I hope it's going well. So today we're going to be talking about conversation starters for preaching the gospel.  People say they have boldness issues when it comes to preaching, but one reason is simply because, they don't know how to start. First off, make sure you start with a proper introduction . You know, "Hi good afternoon, my name is _____, how is work going?", ask about the person's livelihood, ask how he/she's doing, just show interest in the person. You may or may not ask for the person's name, but however way, build a sense of cordiality first. So then:  1. "Do you know any good church around here?" (the person begins to tell you which ones are available nearby), Then you ask, "Now which one do you attend?", and from there, you proceed to preach. >> This is very effective at getting the attention of people. And it obeys a very crucial tip for when it comes to preaching: Bein...

How to get back on track when you haven't evangelised in a while

Image
Hi, so I hadn't evangelised in over two weeks except one time to a girl in my area, and then after the 2 weeks I spoke to another person. Both listened quite keenly actually. Very awesome stuff. But then, evangelising only twice in THREE weeks, is wayyy below par. That is BAD . If you have such standards where you think that's okay, it's not. Change it. Evangelism must be consistent of at least   twice a week. Why twice? Because, in order to sustain the fire, the passion, the body needs to do something regularly. Your mind needs to be engaged in evangelism in order to actually see it as a priority.  I've come to realize that. Have you noticed that it's just by missing that one day of evangelism, that your fire usually goes down? You just find it hard to speak to people again, suddenly you're struggling once again with boldness issues (WHICH YOU THOUGHT YOU'VE CONQUERED), or, the one which is even worse: You've lost your passion. You sudden...

How to Evangelise - Part 2: The Court Room Illustration.

Image
So then after you've made the person realize his need for salvation, the next thing, is to provide the solution. As said before, sin is the disease, the gospel is the antidote. So then the gospel must be presented in a way that it can be easily understood, and it's worth can be made obvious to the hearer. For this, we use: Illustrations. Now this cannot be overemphasized, in order to get something to stick into a person's mind, an illustration is ABSOLUTELY necessary. Why? Because it gives easy understanding. It presents the information in a way that can be easily memorable. Teaching a child math for example: if you merely say, 2+2=4, that sounds very abstract and meaningless. But if you say, "If I give you two oranges, and add another two oranges, you will have: four . Therefore, 2+2=4", it would make wayyy more sense. The same thing applies to preaching. Let me introduce you to one of the illustrations I use to preach the gospel. This is by far the most importa...

Help! Evangelism is HARD. What should I do? - Part One

Image
Hi there, evangelism is hard eh? I understand. Having to walk up to someone, summon the courage, and actually speak? Then about Jesus? Omor, yo!! You might find it hard to talk to people, being an introvert, you may be shy, not know what to say, and all of that. So then, this article will cover:  What to say when I actually evangelise - Part One. I'm not going to waste your time here. Let's dive in. The key essentials of every evangelism encounter are: 1. You must emphasize the need for   salvation. I mean, why accept Christ, when there's no need to? People don't get this. Most times, you don't just go and tell people "believe in Jesus, He died for you",  What does that mean? Of what use is that to them? People can only want a solution, if they know there is a problem, right? The gospel is the cure to the Universal sickness called sin. Immorality. It is prevalent in EVERY single human. And unless that sin is purged, judgement will come. But yet...

Preaching to a Hausa Lady Wearing a Hijab in the Bus: The ICM Prelude

Image
Hi guys, so today, as the title says, I preached to a Hausa lady in the bus on my way home (well tonight actually. Just got home about an hour ago).  It was good. Really good. She listened throughout . But before I go into it, let me give a prelude to what happened: Today is Saturday. For 4 Saturdays now, I have been going to ICM (Ikeja City Mall, Lagos) to evangelise. The schedule is, after our YEN Ikeja meeting at Tantalizers, Allen, I just take a N100 bus to the mall. It's not far at all. But first, as I realized painfully , it doesn't matter if you have prayed 2/3 hours earlier in the day; if you don't pray at least   an hour just before you go out to preach, you will FUMBLE. Especially if it is in a new location you have never evangelised in before. So anyway I went there, spoke to someone I spoke to last week (she's actually a shopkeeper there), and it was more of a follow-up conversation. But, one problem: she spoke a little too much. I call this a pr...

Post 1: Today's Evangelism Experience

Image
Today's evangelism left a bitter-sweet taste in my mouth. And guess what? It's because of a certain country named, Nigeria 😊. I will explain why. But let's start from scratch. Wednesday The 9th, March 2022: By 3:30pm I had put a pause on my design, ready to go out on evangelism. I left my house and I was ready to engage the school kids that pass by on my street, since 4pm is the usual time they start passing by after closing. But first, I had to pray. Prayed about 30 mins, then left the house. (Note: Pray longer. I only prayed 30 mins because I had already prayed twice today). - Number 1: Anywho so I left the house, saw these teens wearing a blue uniform (there were about 9 of them), so I spoke to them. ... Chai! My life , A WHOLE ME . They ignored my life 😭😭 Ah 😭 (So like how I decided to do it for the school teens is, I'd introduce myself, show them a paper with "Your sins are forgiven", "God is not angry with you", or "God ca...

An Introduction: What is All Things Evangelism EXACTLY?

Image
Hi there, my name is Tofunwa of Young Ecclesia Nation (YEN), a ministry heaven-bent on getting the gospel to the young people of the earth, and seeing every person walk in the Supernatural Power of God. I am one who is very excited at the thought of evangelism, and I LONG to see people saved!  God told me to start this blog so it would be a means to encourage believers, and equip them with the tools they need to get people saved. That is, to preach the gospel, present it in a very convincing manner, with facts and logic, demonstrations of the Supernatural, and eventually, get them to believe. Scriptures tell us to "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every person" (Mark 16:15); so my goal is to help you and to strengthen you, so you will be able to do just that. Point to Note: I am not a Guru, in fact, I am FAR from it. I have LOTS of people that I look up to myself, but eventually, I WILL get there. However, I do know a thing or two about evangelism, a...
